The primary mission of the street department is to maintain village streets in order to provide safe and convenient travel with the utmost efficiency to the village taxpayer.

Some of the responsibilities include:

• Sign visibility
• Garbage, recycling, and large rubbish collection
• Leaf and brush pick-up, street sweeping, and snow clearing/removal
• Street, lighting, curb and gutter maintenance/repair
• Beautification
• Sidewalk improvement
• Effectively maintain equipment at low cost
